A key part of our recently published Environment and Sustainability Strategy - this introductory course is part of a 2 tiered training suite designed to provide Network Rail’s front line with an understanding of the importance of biodiversity to our railway. The Varley Review published in 2018 identified a need for Network Rail to take greater consideration of the lineside habitats and associated wildlife when undertaking vegetation management. This course provides an introduction to the types of things we need to be aware of when undertaking work on the lineside.
